Our company took part in the inauguration of the “Ponticelle” Multifunctional Platform, developed by ENI Rewind, a project of great importance for the Ravenna area and for the development of an industrial model increasingly focused on sustainability and the circular economy.
The event provided an important opportunity to open the facilities built by our company to the public and stakeholders, showcasing their technical features and strategic role within the new environmental hub. The project represents a concrete example of industrial regeneration, enhancing remediated areas through the construction of infrastructures dedicated to sustainable waste management and resource recovery.
As part of this major project, our company designed and built two plants for the mechanical treatment of industrial waste, which will operate within the Bio Recupero ENI Rewind S.p.A. multifunctional platform at the Ponticelle site (Ravenna). These plants represent a key component of the treatment process, contributing to the operational efficiency and sustainability objectives of the entire facility.
The first plant, designated Package PKG 304, is a non-contaminated soil treatment plant. In this facility, treated material is recovered through blending, sorting and mechanical separation of non-contaminated waste in order to separate the different particle size fractions. The purpose of forming treatment batches is to ensure the production of a homogeneous waste stream suitable for the subsequent treatment process.
The second plant, designated PKG 305, is a bioremediation plant for hydrocarbon-contaminated soils and sludge. The plant is designed to process non-hazardous waste contaminated by hydrocarbons through mechanical treatment and bioremediation, producing soil and inert materials that cease to be classified as waste in accordance with applicable regulations. Hydrocarbon-contaminated waste undergoes mechanical separation processes aimed at removing foreign materials and separating the coarser, uncontaminated particle size fractions. The bioremediation (or biodegradation) process involves the biological treatment of contaminated soils through the removal of organic pollutants by naturally occurring bacterial activity within specially engineered treatment piles known as biopiles.
We are proud to have contributed our know-how and expertise to the construction of an infrastructure that represents a benchmark for environmental innovation and the transition towards an increasingly circular economy, reaffirming our commitment to developing advanced technological solutions in support of both industry and local communities.
The experience gained during the execution of this project has further strengthened our position as a qualified supplier to ENI Rewind S.p.A., while expanding our expertise and capabilities in the design and construction of large-scale treatment plants and remediation infrastructures dedicated to the environmental restoration and redevelopment of former industrial sites.
