Our company’s first participation in Exponor, one of the leading international trade fairs dedicated to the mining and extractive industries, concluded successfully. The company, selected to join the Italian Collective Participation organized by ICE – the Italian Trade Agency for the promotion and internationalization of Italian companies abroad, was represented by DSW Commercial Director, Marco Contarini (hereinafter referred to as Marco).
The event proved to be an important opportunity to meet and engage with operators and stakeholders from the South American market. With more than 60,000 visitors and 1,382 exhibitors from 36 countries, Exponor is one of the key reference events in the industry, fostering networking among companies, professionals, and decision-makers while encouraging the exchange of technical and commercial expertise. The Chilean mining market showed a strong focus on issues such as safety, sustainability, and the reduction of environmental impact.
Following last year’s participation in Expomin, our presence at Exponor further strengthened the company’s visibility in Chile, creating new business opportunities and consolidating relationships with key players in the South American mining sector.
During the many discussions held at the booth, one of the industry’s main challenges clearly emerged: the management and recovery of processed water. Marco explained that, due to water scarcity in the geographical areas where many visitors operate, there is significant interest in technologies capable of ensuring effective water treatment and recovery while maximizing both operational cost efficiency (OPEX) and environmental risk mitigation.
The soil washing and filtration technologies, presented at the event, attracted considerable interest due to their design and functional features, with particular attention paid to system automation, operational reliability, and maintenance requirements. Discussions with industry professionals also highlighted a growing demand for robust, efficient, and easily manageable plants and systems over the long term, supported by comprehensive after-sales services and qualified local technical assistance.
