UBF 2000 filter press assembly and on-site installation

Ongoing tests on struvite dewatering are being carried out using our filter press, as part of the project “Digestate treatment to reduce emissions and recover a fertilizer: struvite”, developed by a research partnership led by CRPA – Centro Ricerche Produzioni Animali, in collaboration with Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna, thanks to European Funds from the Emilia-Romagna Region.

Several conditioning tests were conducted on struvite precipitates using different polyelectrolytes, flocculants, and inorganic chemical conditioning agents. The conditioning activities were followed by filter press tests carried out both on a laboratory filter press and on an industrial pilot-scale filter press.

On June 9, 2026, our colleague Mario Fedele, laboratory manager, will hold a presentation at the workshop “Digestate valorization through struvite recovery”, organized at the Ferrara Technopole.
